A number of constituents have contacted me about the protection of civilians - particularly children - in conflict zones.
The Government is committed to ensuring the UK's approach benefits all civilians, including children.
The Government has been clear it welcomes recent research carried out by academics and NGO's in this field, and I know that it will consult with them and take that work into account as it undertakes its own review into its global strategy on the Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict.
We must ensure that our approach is fit for the challenges of 21st century conflict and I have no doubt that the Government's review will ensure that this is the case.
I will continue to follow this issue closely.
