Statement from George Hollingbery MP regarding the Autumn Statement.

Today’s statement was a steady, business like examination of our economy and how we are going to ensure greater prosperity for the country long term with a grip on the public finances, but also helping those at the lower end of the income scales.

These last few weeks there’s been much talk about ‘hard and soft Brexit’, being 'in or out of the single market', and more besides with quite a few people getting into rather a lather over it all.

Meeting with Mary Edwards – Chief Executive of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust

George met with Mary Edwards to talk about the Trust’s services and future plans. It also gave him the opportunity to congratulate her on 21 years working at the Trust, with 13 years spent in the role of Chief Executive and to wish her well when she steps down to retire this December.

Meritocracy is a wonderful word, it trips off the tongue and it has an air of fairness and decency about it.

George visits Sunshine Day Centre

George paid a visit to the Sunshine Day Centre in Waterlooville to meet with the centre’s staff, and some of the elderly people who use the facilities.

George  was keen to praise the work done by the centre and hoped that additional facilities could be setup in the future.
