MP launches Christmas card competition 2011

Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery has launched his Christmas card competition - and a winning entry will get the chance to grace the Prime Minister's mantelpiece at 10 Downing Street.

The cards judged the best in three categories are sent to some very important people, like David Cameron and the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, during the festive season.

The winners will also visit the Houses of Parliament with George as their guide.

"Last year's competition was a great success with the winning pupils having a great day out in London and also seeing their work in printed form," said George.

"So this year we want even more schools to take part and show just how talented pupils are in the Meon Valley."

The three categories are: reception to year six, year seven to 11 and one for the Rachel Maddocks Special School in Cowplain.

The competition, which allows any festive subject, is to be judged by local gallery owner Sue Elton and the deadline for entries is the 14th October.
