All Party Parliamentary Group for American Football launch
A touch of glamour surrounded Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery this week when American football cheerleaders from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team came to Parliament.
The girls, and players from the Buccaneers, were at Westminster for the launch of the All Party Parliamentary Group for American Football.
They were joined by London Blitz - the winners of the British version of the Superbowl called the Britbowl - who dressed up in their kit for the occasion.
George is a founder member of the group and will help support the sport in the UK, which has grown in popularity in recent years.
Tampa Bay are to play the Chicago Bears at Wembley this weekend in a showcase match on this side of the pond.
“Having an American wife has meant I have seen quite a lot of American football and I really enjoy it, so it was great to meet some of the players,” said George.
“There's no doubt, the sport is becoming much more popular on this side of the Atlantic and the group is also a fun way to cement our ties with the US.”
